A historic villa
designed for contemporary
hospitality.
Villa Levi was built in 1905 in Sanremo as an holiday residence for the Levi family – a leading force in both Italian industrial and financial field between the 19th and 20th centuries. The building belongs to the aristocratic and bourgeois tourism that transformed the Ligurian Riviera into one of Europe’s most prestigious destinations, chosen on one side for its healthy climate, on the other side for the quality of its landscape.
The villa, specifically, takes its name from Giorgina Levi – the founder’s beloved daughter – to whose memory were dedicated significant architectural and artistic works. After the Second World War and the death of Isaia Levi, the property was transferred to the Vatican and subsequently converted into a boarding house and orphanage, gradually taking on its current form.
Today, Villa Levi continues to preserve this heritage, offering guests
a stay steeped in the history of the Riviera.
HISTORY
Villa Levi is not just a hotel; it is a legacy built on transitions and rebirths. Linked to the well-known Levi family of Turin, the villa served as a private residence and a place of healing, until it received Pope Francis’s blessing for its new lease of life.
ARCHITECTURAL STYLE
The villa’s style is a dialogue between eras: Art Nouveau lines and historic floors meet minimalist, contemporary furnishings. Nothing is excessive; everything is designed to allow space for light and a sense of calm, in a harmonious blend of vintage charm and modern comfort.
THE GARDEN
Eight thousand square metres of private grounds surround the Villa, shielding it from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is a rare oasis in Sanremo, where the silence is broken only by the wind rustling through the leaves. Here, breakfast becomes a delicious brunch, surrounded by nature that invites you to slow down.
THE SEA
Just a few steps separate the garden from the coast and the cycle path, making Villa Levi the perfect starting point for exploring the coastline. The salty air and reflected light filter through the windows, uniting the interior and exterior in a single embrace.
